Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • The manager and staff build strong partnerships with parents and inform them of their child's key person. There is a daily record of children's attendance, which includes the name of each child's key person.

Staff effectively support children's positive emotional well-being. Children behave well. • Staff create a warm and welcoming environment for children and their families, which helps them to feel safe.

Staff are very vigilant. They are well deployed and complete thorough daily risk assessments to help ensure the premises are well secure. Staff constantly supervise children and effectively promote their safety.

• Staff know and underst...and the children well. They use observations and information from parents to carry out accurate developmental assessments of children and identify their starting points. Staff monitor children's learning and plan interesting and challenging learning experiences to help them achieve positive outcomes.

• The manager effectively evaluates the provision and identifies areas that require development to strengthen the quality of teaching. For example, she observes staff practice and provides them with constructive feedback on how they can improve their knowledge and skills. Children make good progress from their starting points.

It is not yet outstanding because: • Staff do not always recognise when they need to adapt activities to help enhance children's learning experiences to an even higher level. For example, at times they do not ensure children have enough space to expand their play. • At times, staff do not help younger children to understand what is going to happen next to provide a smooth transition between some routines.
