Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is good • Since the last inspection, the provider has worked hard to make improvements to the club. She now carefully evaluates her practice, addresses any weaknesses and identifies areas for improvement.

As a result, children are kept safe. • Effective procedures are in place to monitor staff practice. This helps to develop and improve their knowledge and skills.

• Children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. The provider and staff work in partnership with parents and other professionals involved in the children's care to ensure their needs are met. • Staff place a high importance on supporting children to develop the...ir reading skills.

They enjoy sitting with the children while they read their schools books. This helps them to recognise and sound out letters and words. • The provider works hard to provide a setting that is inclusive, and accessible for all children.

Careful consideration is given to celebrating children's similarities and differences. It is not yet outstanding because: • The provider has yet to establish the sharing of children's progress with schools for all early years children that attend the club, to enable her to complement children's learning to higher levels. • Children are given few opportunities to develop their cooperation and teamwork skills during group activities.
