The provision is good • The provider has a good understanding of the strengths of the nursery and has set appropriate targets for future development.

She has high expectations of staff. • The provider oversees the progress of all children effectively. Children who require additional support are quickly identified and staff work effectively with other agencies to promote good progress.

• Staff work well with parents and engage them in their children's learning. Parents are encouraged to borrow resources to use at home and contribute to staff's observations and assessments of children's learning. • The quality of teaching is good.

Staff effectively implement a range of strategies to help prepare children for their next stage of learning and the move to school. It is not yet outstanding because: • Staff do not always plan highly effective activities, particularly for those children who prefer to learn outdoors. • Occasionally, staff do not fully consider how the organisation of daily routines can effect children's engagement, especially in their self-chosen play.
