Summary of key findings for parents

The provision meets requirements The provider demonstrates how she tackles weaknesses in staff practice.

Since the last inspection the provider has appointed a new manager who has worked hard to help improve the overall quality of the club. The provider appropriately demonstrates how she promotes children's safety and welfare. For example, she ensures that risk assessments of the premises are carried out each day and that the building is kept secure to promote children's safety.

The manager shows how she gains information from parents and teachers in order to support the children's individual care and learning needs during their time at the club. The provider understands... how to promote children's well-being. She demonstrates that she provides children with a choice of healthy snacks and daily opportunities for fresh air and exercise.

She also understands how to positively manage children's behaviour. The provider and her staff have knowledge of child protection procedures and understand their responsibility to protect the welfare of the children in their care. The provider has met the action set at the last inspection.

This has resulted in improved systems for staff induction, recording of information and consistent implementation of policies and procedures. This demonstrates the provider's capacity to improve and to further develop the provision. The manager is able to demonstrate how resources and toys reflect children's interests and learning from school.

She also understands how to deploy resources for children to access independently. There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation.

Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration. Inspection activities The inspector and provider toured the areas of the premises where childcare is to be provided.

The inspector, manager and the provider discussed and looked at toys, books, resources and equipment that she intends to use. The inspector looked at policies and documents the provider will use when caring for children and discussed self-evaluation and improvement plans. The inspector checked evidence of suitability and training of the provider and suitability of childcare staff.
