What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children smile as they come into the club and meet with their friends.

They have good bonds with the staff at the club and excitedly talk about what they have done at school. Staff take the time to listen to and talk to children, getting to know them well as individuals. Staff know what children like to do and where they like to play.

Staff join in with children to play games or sit and chat. Children are given the opportunity to decide how they would like to spend their time at the club. Older children include the younger children in their games.

They are caring and kind, offering encouragement and celebrating wi...th them, such as when they win the game. Staff support behaviour by acting as positive role models to children. Children are receptive to this and, as a result, are considerate to others.

Children of all ages play cooperatively together. They enjoy exciting activities, such as a large variety of craft activities, mark making, and indoor and outdoor physical activities. Staff provide a wide variety of experiences and resources for children at the club.

Children can relax quietly or join in with active games. There is something for everyone at the well planned and smoothly run club.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Children benefit from attentive staff, who are close by for support.

Children understand what is expected of them at the club. Staff go through their club rules, which are visible on the wall for all children to see. Rule time is interactive, and children are encouraged to role play scenarios of good behaviour.

Children receive prizes from staff when they have behaved well. Children clap and cheer as their friends receive prizes.The club manager has clear aims for the club.

Staff contribute to the daily running of the club, such as through their daily evaluations and planning with the club manager. Staff speak passionately about the children and how well they know them. The designated key person for younger children establishes strong attachments to support their emotional well-being. The key person swiftly recognises when younger children are shy or unsure and ensures that they settle well when coming to the club.

He sensitively guides them to quieter areas to give them comfort when needed. All staff build positive relationships with all children to help promote their well-being. As a result, children feel safe and confident at the club.

Parent feedback indicates that they are happy with the service that the club provides. Parents state that 'the staff are very friendly and professional and provide a safe and engaging club' for children. The club staff communicate effectively with parents to ensure that important messages from the school are passed on.

They also delight in informing parents when children have done something particularly well.
