What is it like to attend this early years setting?

This provision meets requirements Children excitedly enter the holiday club and happily leave their parents.

Staff welcome the children and are quick to support them to join in with the activities on offer. For example, children do archery, draw pictures and read stories. Staff are quick to praise children for their achievements and challenge them further.

For instance, children who easily hit the target in archery are encouraged to increase their distance from the target. Children show they feel safe at this club and with the staff.Staff promote independence and build children's confidence.

Children have a choice about what they would like to do.... For example, staff get children to vote for which activity they would like to do next. Children persevere when challenge occurs, and staff work with them to develop their skills to help them achieve.

For example, staff give them tips on how to bounce the ball a certain way to get the cone to flip over during a group challenge. Children show good levels of self-esteem.Children join in with a range of activities that support their physical, mental and social development.

The staff plan activities which are exciting and inclusive for all. For example, children join in with team games, learn the importance of a balanced diet and develop their curiosity about nature. Staff are aware of children's age, abilities and needs and adapt activities accordingly.

They also join in with the activities, which the children love. Children show they really enjoy themselves and laugh a lot.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The leadership is strong.

They have clear aims, ethos and vision for the children and the staff. Staff get relevant training prior and throughout their time with the club. For example, all staff receive a two-day induction training programme.

This supports staff to deliver activities that promote children's well-being, following their holistic approach. For instance, they learn how to implement activities to support children's social skills. Staff feel extremely supported by their leadership team.

Staff remind children of the rules and follow a behaviour management system. For example, they reward children for good behaviour with certificates. Children's behaviour is good, and they listen well to the staff and follow their instructions.

Staff also remind children of their manners to which children respond. Children are kind and respect each other.Staff are quick to build a rapport with new children who join the club.

They spend time talking to them, finding out about their interests and support them in making friendships. Staff ensure the children's needs are always met, such as having access to drinking water.Staff promote a healthy lifestyle.

All children take part in physical activities, such as tag and ball games. Staff talk to children about the importance of healthy eating and keeping hydrated. Children have regular breaks to rest, drink and eat.

Staff teach the children about the effects that exercise has on their body and the importance of looking after themselves. Children follow good hygiene routines and understand the importance of this.Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well.

Staff ensure they have all the information they need to support the children before they join the club. They also undergo relevant training, so they are aware of how to adapt their interactions to support these children. Children with SEND happily join in with all the activities provided and show they feel supported by the staff.

The leaders are committed to supporting families in the local community. They use additional funding to provide eligible children with activity sessions and a hot meal. These opportunities allow for children to take part in a range of experiences.

This has a positive impact on the children.Parents are happy with the care provided for their children. They provide information on their child to ensure the staff can keep them safe, such as medical information.

The children also comment on how excited they are to be attending the club again.
