This provision is good • The manager provides staff with effective support, guidance and coaching to improve their practice. For example, recent training has helped them to extend further their good skills to support children's early literacy, and communication and language development. • An effective key-person system is in place.

Staff use children's assessment information to plan successfully for the next steps in their learning. • All children make good progress, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Children gain a wide range of useful skills that prepare them well for their future learning and starting school.

They concentrate w...ell on activities that interest them. • Staff are positive role models and provide children with clear guidance about what is expected of them. Children behave well and develop good social skills.

For example, when two children want to use the same tricycle, they decide that they will work together to operate it. • The manager has not fully developed procedures to monitor and track the progress of different groups of children in order to raise their achievement to the highest level. • At times, staff do not fully consider how to adapt their large-group activities to more successfully meet children's individual interests and stages of development.
