Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good Staff support children's physical well-being effectively.

Staff provide varied outdoor experiences to enrich children's understanding of nature and the world around them. The experienced pre-school managers are dedicated in providing a good-quality learning environment and experiences for all children. They accurately review the quality of the pre-school and identify areas for further development.

Partnerships with parents are effective. Staff visit children in their own home before they start to attend and gather detailed information from parents about their children's development. Staff continue to keep parents fully informed about their children...'s learning.

Parents are very happy with the progress their children are making. Staff are well qualified. They place a strong emphasis on supporting children to acquire good communication and language abilities.

Staff use effective strategies to help children develop good listening, attention and speaking skills. Managers and staff develop very strong partnerships with teachers in local schools. They work closely together on joint play and learning projects.

This helps to support children's emotional well-being and assists a smooth move to school. It is not yet outstanding because: Performance management systems do not yet focus precisely on developing staff's teaching and assessment skills, to raise the quality of practice even further. Occasionally, staff interrupt children's individual play, explorations and concentration as they invite them to join in larger group activities.
