Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good The manager checks that the club is a safe and secure place for the children attending.

She ensures that staff help children move safely from school to the out-of-school provision and keeps clear records as children arrive and depart. Parents report that they are happy with the care their children receive. They find staff helpful and approachable.

Staff keep them well informed about the activities their children have enjoyed so that they can continue these interests at home. Staff are keen to engage with the children in their play. For example, they join in their games to encourage their understanding of turn taking and cooperative play.

S...taff meet children's physical needs well. For example, they encourage children as they take part in energetic games outdoors, to help ensure they get plenty of fresh air and exercise. Children enjoy attending the club.

They are relaxed in the company of the kind staff, who encourage them to be kind and considerate too. It is not yet outstanding because: At times staff do not make the best use of available resources to provide children with a wide range of activities that capture their interest and encourage them to fully engage in meaningful play. Staff do not find out consistently about individual children's interests and progress at school, to fully build on these at the club.
