This provision meets requirements • The manager knows how to implement effective systems to evaluate and reflect on practice and seek the views of all involved. She understands the need to identify strengths and areas for improvement. • Staff understand how to safeguard the children in their care.

They clearly understand the importance of risk assessing and risk management, and the procedures to follow if they have concerns for a child's welfare. • Staff know how to encourage positive behaviour and the importance of working as a team to manage challenging behaviours when they arise. They are calm role models.

• The manager and staff know to plan a broad variety of activi...ties and adapt them to the learning needs of the individual children. Staff understand how young children learn and develop at different rates and how to build on their skills and support progress. • Staff understand the importance of working closely with parents, schools and other professionals involved with children so that they can effectively promote continuity in children's care and learning.

• Managers know the importance of promoting confidentiality and sensitivity for the children and their families. • Staff have a clear understanding of how to implement carefully planned routines and individual care plans, so that each child's safety and well-being are effectively and consistently promoted.
