This provision is good Systems for the safe recruitment and induction of newly appointed staff are effective. The manager carefully monitors staff practice. Regular supervisions and annual appraisals help to keep standards of practice high.

Children are very well supported to develop their communication and language skills. Staff consistently use a variety of questioning techniques to effectively extend children's vocabulary and thinking skills. Staff are well qualified and have a good understanding of how young children learn and develop.

They display a commitment to enhancing their own knowledge and skills through further training and professional development opportuni...ties. Staff are positive role models. They consistently promote the use of good manners and appropriate behaviour.

Staff use praise effectively to motivate children during activities and to support their self-esteem. Partnerships with parents are well established. Staff make good use of daily conversations, displays and newsletters, to keep them informed of their children's care and achievements at the setting.

The learning environment is well maintained and children confidently access resources, indoors and outside. They explore freely and show high levels of curiosity. It is not yet outstanding because: Children's individual progress is monitored effectively, however, there is less emphasis on using information from the assessment of different groups of children.
