This provision meets requirements Children thoroughly enjoy themselves at this friendly club.

Staff talk to children about the activities and experiences they would like to access. They then involve them in planning. Staff also include children in making decisions about the resources and materials they purchase for the club.

Children are secure, knowing that staff pay close attention to their wishes and feelings. Children confidently talk with visitors and happily share their positive thoughts about the club. They are keen for visitors to understand how kind and friendly the staff team are.

Children have plenty of opportunity to extend their ideas... and lead their play. They benefit from spending much time outdoors. Staff support children to negotiate the rules of games and ensure everyone is included.

Children demonstrate kindness and compassion to each other. Older children are exceptionally keen to support their younger peers. They help them at tea time by serving their sandwiches and encourage them to try the vegetables on offer.

Children organise themselves to play board games. Older children kindly make sure that younger children understand the rules. They successfully negotiate who will start and then ensure everyone gets a turn.

As parents arrive, children are reluctant to go home without finishing their game. They enjoy the thrill of seeing who will win.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Staff get to know children well.

They use their knowledge of the children's personalities and interests to meet their individual needs. For example, staff provide a range of modelling materials for children who are interested in construction and design. Staff listen carefully to children's voices in order to provide opportunities that spark their interest and fascination.

Children become deeply involved and focused on their play. This contributes positively to their feelings of well-being.Children are exceptionally clear about the expectations of them.

They confidently share the club values with visitors. Children understand how the values help to keep everybody safe. Staff consistently and respectfully support children to make the right choices.

As a result of this, children understand right from wrong. Children's behaviour is exemplary across the setting.Children are keen to play outdoors.

Staff ensure active play opportunities and team games are available at all times. Children delight in the energetic games they play with their peers. They demonstrate a clear understanding of the needs of others.

Staff model and promote respectful communication at all times. This impacts positively on how children respond to their peers.Children play cooperatively, for example they are excited to design and build a car ramp.

They work together collaboratively, listening to each other's ideas. Staff support children to select materials that will extend their construction. Children are keen to work out which cars go the fastest as they try out the ramp.

They focus on this activity for a prolonged time. Children delight in racing and measuring which car travels the furthest.Children get involved in making dough.

They enjoy choosing from the range of tools and equipment available. Children chat as they play and enjoy the social interaction opportunities. There is a lively buzz across the room and children delight in the company of their peers.

Children compare the models they make and spend time refining and perfecting their dough creations.Younger children are interested in the dinosaur world that staff have created. This links to and builds on children's learning at school.

Staff communicate effectively with teachers to extend themes that children are exploring in lessons. Children are highly engaged in painting the dinosaur feet and then stomping onto the paper to make prints. Staff observe children's actions and engage them in conversation to extend their knowledge of the different species.

Staff take every opportunity to celebrate and praise children's individuality and achievements. They consistently focus on positive aspects of their play and interaction. As a result of this, children are eager to please and they respond positively to staff.

For example, they promptly follow instructions and help to put toys and equipment away when asked.Parents cannot praise the club highly enough. They are delighted with the range of activities, games and experiences that children engage in.

Parents state that their children are happy to arrive and less happy to go home. They view this as a positive. Children make friends and have the opportunity to socialise with others outside of their year group.

Parents particularly like the family atmosphere and the nurturing, friendly staff team.
