The provision is good • Staff use effective methods of teaching. They provide a good range of activities based around children's current interests. Children are motivated and engaged in their play.

• Children enjoy the time they spend at this welcoming and nurturing playgroup. Staff are kind, caring and responsive to children's individual needs. • Children's communication and language skills are promoted well.

Staff encourage children to share their thoughts and ideas. Children happily join in with discussions and conversations. • Children's behaviour is good.

Staff act as good role models and teach them how to show respect for others, such as encouraging the ch...ildren to use good manners. Children make good friendships with each other. They learn to share, cooperate and take turns during their play.

• Good links with the host school help to support children in preparation for their move to school. It is not yet outstanding because: • Occasionally, staff do not encourage children to fully explore their own ideas and interests and lead their own play. • Staff do not provide the same level of opportunities for children who prefer to play and learn in the outdoor environment.
