Summary of key findings for parents

The provision is inadequate • Significant weaknesses in leadership and management compromise children's safety and welfare.

The provider does not understand how to improve practice. A manager who has been in post for many years has resigned and the provider is not aware of the early years foundation stage requirements. The provider has failed to notify Ofsted of changes to individuals who make up the registered body.

• There are no procedures in place for the induction and supervision of staff to ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities to promote children's welfare and learning. Employed staff do not have any job descriptions. Staff are not given the su...pport, guidance and training they need so that they are aware of current early years issues and have a clear understanding of how to promote children's needs.

• Due to recent staff changes, the provider has failed to ensure that there is a named person responsible for safeguarding. Staff do not have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding legislation and guidance, in order to protect children from harm. The provider has not implemented effective safeguarding policies and procedures in line with the current local safeguarding children board procedures.

• The provider does not complete any form of self-evaluation to identify strengths and areas where improvement to the provision could be made. The monitoring of staff practice is weak and the provider does not recognise how to improve the quality of staff practice in order to raise outcomes for children. It has the following strengths • Staff support children's personal, social and emotional development well.

Children are settled and confident. • Staff offer good support to children who choose to be engaged in imaginative role play. They encourage children to talk about what they are doing and practise their writing skills.
