Pupils at Beardall Fields thrive in this caring and welcoming school. They benefit from effective pastoral care and support.

Pupils feel safe and are happy, and they want to come to school. They talk about being part of a 'school family, where we can be ourselves'. The school has a clear commitment to pupils' personal development and wellbeing.

Pupils benefit from a range of activities beyond the classroom. Careful consideration is given to preparing pupils for life beyond school and they are encouraged to be active members of the community.Pupils are confident and resilient.

Older pupils act as positive role models to younger pupils. Pupils develop their leadership skills by taking on a range of roles and respons...ibilities. They behave well and show kindness towards each other.

The school is inclusive. Pupils facing additional barriers to their learning, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are supported well. Pupils whose parents are serving in the armed forces benefit from a safe space to connect and share their experiences with others.

Most pupils achieve well in external tests and are supported to reach ambitious goals. However, some pupils struggle to recall their learning in some subjects. This is because they do not routinely have the opportunity to revisit their learning connected to some subject areas.

Furthermore, the feedback that they receive does not consistently enable pupils to deepen their learning or address misconceptions. Children in the early years benefit from a warm and welcoming start to their time at school. However, the curriculum for the early years does not precisely identify the key knowledge that children will learn across their time in the early years and does not prepare them as well as it could for key stage 1.
