As a result, a small number of pupils in most year groups are not accurate enough in their letter formation and spelling. This means that their work does not always communicate their ideas as well as it could. The school should ensure that the teaching of writing provides all pupils with the key skills of transcription that will enable them to communicate their learning consistently well.
